The satellite distribution outage that took some KAKM programs off the air remote parts of the state has been resolved. Repair of the “ARCS” system should restore distribution of KAKM’s Alaska Weather to the remote parts of the state this evening at 5:30 p.m., and broadcast TV services in many bush parts of the state should also be back.
Here’s the message we received from APBI technical support at 3:47 p.m. today:
Satellite delivery for ARCS, Alaska One, 360 North (Gavel to Gavel) and UATV has resumed. Engineers and technicians in Fairbanks were able to identify and solve the path interruption. From the monitor point in Anchorage, all video and audio services in the multiplex appear to be working correctly. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
