Monday, June 23, 8 - 9:00 pm; Repeats Saturday, June 28, 7 - 8:00 pm
In the summer of 1967, thousands of young people from across the country flocked to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district to join in the hippie experience, only to discover that what they had come for was already disappearing. By 1968 the celebration of free love, music and an alternative lifestyle had descended into a maelstrom of drug abuse, broken dreams and occasional violence. This presentation explores the notorious event that many consider the peak of the 1960s counter-culture movement.

I was HUGELY dissapointed when I turned on the TV last night at 8:00PM to watch “Great Lodges of the National Parks” only to realize that it had begun at 7:00! Am I missing something on your web site about time? I live in interior and when I last looked, we are in the same time zone as Anchorage, where I assume this web site is generated.

Will you please correctly post the beginning times of the various programs offered on your station? Thank you.

  2. John Proffitt on June 26, 2008 at 10:06 am

Ms. Armington, the schedule on our web site is accurate — it lists a start time of 7:00 p.m. last night. Perhaps your computer has the wrong time zone configured? Many computers come pre-configured with Pacific Time, which might list the show as starting at 8:00 p.m.

    Dear Mr. Proffitt-

Thank you for your response. The problem must lie with my computer - although, below, please see the “cut and paste” info that your web site shows on my screen. As least now that I know I have a glitch, I can plan accordingly and not be dissapointed in the future. I look forward to tomorrow’s nights’ sequel, which I will turn on at 7:00. Thanks again for responding. Martha Armington
