Today in Dayton, Ohio John McCain celebrated his 72nd birthday by announcing his choice for Vice President on the presumptie Republican Presidential ticket: Alaska’s own governor, Sarah Palin.

Alaska Public Radio Network reporters are covering Alaska’s primary election results tonight (Tuesday, 8/26) LIVE on participating APRN stations statewide. Listeners in the Anchorage area can tune in to KSKA Public Radio at FM 91.1 or listen online.

APRN has a team in the Anchorage studios, another team covering results at “Election Central” at the Egan Center in downtown Anchorage and yet more reporters around the state.

Join the reporters online at APRN.ORG or follow our updates on Twitter.

Full reporting on results will be available tomorrow on KSKA (FM 91.1) and APRN stations statewide.

Election results are being published online by the State’s Division of Elections. You can find the updates here:

Results are expected to start rolling in around 9:00 p.m. Alaska time.

Starting tonight (Monday, 8/25) and running through Thursday, KAKM is proud to bring you PBS’ special Democratic Convention coverage. NOTE: while the live activities start at 4:00 p.m. Alaska time, we’re tape-delaying the playback to 7:00 p.m.

Anchored by Jim Lehrer of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, will include extended uninterrupted coverage of podium activities and speeches; reporting from the floor of the convention; newsmaker interviews; political analysis and historical perspective. NewsHour senior correspondents Gwen Ifill, Ray Suarez, Judy Woodruff and Margaret Warner will join Lehrer. Political analysis will be provided by New York Times columnist David Brooks and syndicated columnist Mark Shields. Presidential historians Michael Beschloss and Richard Norton Smith will add historical perspective; Andy Kohut, president of the Pew Research Center, will update viewers with the latest polling information.
