Caillou returning to kids lineup September 15

Parents of KAKM’s littlest viewers may have gotten a bit of a shock this week — discovering the PBS KIDS lineup had jumped around quite a bit and some shows disappeared from the schedule entirely. Again, we apologize for the confusion as we’re all adjusting to the revised feed from PBS.

One of the cancellations that took place this past Monday was Caillou (that’s him at the right). But based upon the outpouring of support many of our viewers shared with us, and based upon an additional review of the schedule, we found a way to bring Caillou back to the KAKM kids programming suite.

Caillou’s on vacation this week and next, but he’s back starting Monday, September 15 at 2:00pm. And he’ll be with us every weekday at 2:00pm for the foreseeable future.

What’s the catch? Well… we have to make two other changes:

A Place of Our Own, a program for parents and other caregivers, will move from 2:00pm to 12:00pm each weekday.
Super Why!, originally planned for 9:00am and 12:00pm, will now air only at 9:00am.

We suspect these changes may upset fans of these two programs, but we hope you’ll bear with us, as this change allows us to prevent an outright cancellation of a beloved program. Our feeling was that a moved program was less disruptive than an canceled one.
