Where was the coverage of the Anti-Palin rally last Saturday? Why is the media giving Sarah a pass? If she is going to parade her family on stage and hold herself up to be this great “hockey mom”, why is nobody exposing her family for the mess that it is? The media did not do its job in the lead up to the Iraq war. They did not ask the hard questions. I see the same thing happening now. It seems all the Republicans need to do is say “left wing, liberal media” and the press runs for cover. Not very impressive, and dangerous for a democracy.

Kathy — KAKM does not have a local news production unit, so we wouldn’t have covered this or any other rally or news.

Our news functions are covered mostly by APRN reporters and they covered not the rally but the plans for the rally here:

The rally occurred on a weekend and we don’t have weekend news staff right now, unfortunately.

However, there were reporters covering the story. The ADN had an article here:

And the USA Today even carried a story about the rally here (provided by the AP):

    Dear Kathy Knutson,
Anchorage has a population of some 270000 souls, and seventeen hundred showed up for the demonstration. Our very socialist media (CBC) here in Canada made a big issue of this *huge* demonstration… ( I wrote to ask them their definition of ‘huge’)
When twenty thousand people showed up on Parliament Hill here to protest abortion, the local rag displayed a large photo showing some fifteen pro-abortion protesters, and very little reporting of the main event. Do you really and truly believe the media are biased in favour of the ‘right’ side of politics? The media bias in favour of the Democrats and the Socialists here in Canada is overwhelming and out of touch with family life.
I’m told Sarah Palin has an eighty percent or better approval rating in Alaska. Is this correct?
    Cordially,
    Paul Fournier
