October 1 schedule update

We’ve got a couple changes to the October schedule. If you downloaded a printable copy prior to this release, you should download it again. Here’s a summary of the changes:

P.O.V.: IN THE FAMILY
Wed, Oct 1 at 10:00pm / Repeats Thu, Oct 2 at 1:00am
This new and highly-anticipated 90-minute documentary on hereditary (genetic) cancer was originally scheduled to start at 9:00pm but has been moved back to 10:00pm. A review of the program determined there are portions the FCC might deem as inappropriate for airing before 10:00pm local time. To avoid the risk of fines for airing sensitive material outside “safe harbor” hours, we’ve had to push the program back. (For the record, we’re not happy about this change, but the FCC has proven to be both active and highly punitive in matters of content in recent years and we’re not prepared to pay either fines or lawyers over this issue).

CHARLIE ROSE

Due to the move of P.O.V.: In the Family (noted above), Charlie Rose will be aired at an unusually early time on October 1st — 9:00pm. Normally a program running at 10:00pm, viewers can enjoy this earlier run on this special night.
