Election Night on KAKM

Finally! Election season is coming to a close. All the meet-the-candidate programs, debates, analyses and more are wrapped up and it’s time to vote.

But there is one thing left: Election Results.

PBS is assembling the NewsHour team yet again to cover the election returns from coast to coast. Tune in to the NewsHour LIVE at 5:00pm on KAKM for national election results, the analysis of Shields and Brooks, updates from campaign headquarters and more. Coverage will run up to 8:00pm Alaska time.

This, of course, disrupts our normal schedule in a few ways:

Cyberchase at 5:00pm is canceled for this evening
Alaska Weather at 5:30pm is canceled for this evening
The NewsHour’s normal daily news show at 6:00pm is canceled for this evening
5:00pm — Special LIVE NewsHour Election Coverage
8:00pm — NOVA: Missing in MiG Alley
9:00pm — Great Performances: Carnegie Hall Opening Night 2008
10:30pm — Get Ready for Digital TV
11:00pm — Tavis Smiley

Meanwhile, for more coverage of national and statewide election results, tune in to KSKA FM 91.1 beginning at 3:00pm and running up to 11:00pm or possibly later. KSKA will carry results from National Public Radio as well as the Alaska Public Radio Network to keep you up-to-date.
