KAKM is pleased to bring back “Playing for Change” one more time in September.
- Please tune in Saturday, September 19 at 10 p.m.
Playing For Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The project began a decade ago, the brainchild of Grammy-winning music producer and engineer Mark Johnson. For ten years, Johnson and his team traveled the globe to record little-known musicians.
The name “Playing For Change” evokes the coins thrown to street musicians as well as the transformation their music inspires. The team traveled to five continents to find and record unique and talented musicians. Locales include New Orleans, LA; Johannesburg, South Africa; Tel Aviv, Israel; Omagh, Ireland; Chennai, India; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Moscow, Russia; Kathmandu, Nepal; and many others.
