What does the purple colored front mean on your maps on TV? I think the red colored front is a warm front, and the blue colored front is a cold front…is that right?
Thanks.
I think that KAKM should provide a printable explanation sheet on this site of all of the weather map symbols. The meaning of the colored lines, the dots and triangles, as well as what is already there (rain, snow, etc.).
Dear Mr. Shaw: that is a good idea. We will make that suggestion to the National Weather Service – which does our show for us.
